Window management shortcuts.

When MBoudet's grandmother called the city of Miami to report a drainage problem in front of her house, the city worker told her "Put it on the Internet otherwise nobody will do anything". The image went viral immediately, resulting in more than 700,000 views and a fixed drain! This image is proof of the awesome power of the Internet.

The most viewed GIF of this year with 1.5 million views and 3TB of data transferred, goes to the Cafeteria Ninja.

After Hurricane Irene hit Puerto Rico in August, the streets were so flooded that a shark managed to be swimming around. This image, after being tweeted more than 12 thousand times, wins the award for the most tweeted image of the year.

UPDATE: Don't trust everything you see on the Internet... it turns out this image isfake. However, that doesn't change the fact that it was one of the most viral images of the year and still deserving of the #8 spot.

The year started off hard with the protests in Egypt. This image, taken by Nevine Zaki, shows Christians protecting Muslims while they pray during protests in Egypt, and was viewed more than 750,000 times.

This image left us with a feeling that it only takes one act of kindness to change a person's life forever, and with almost 1 million views, we don't think we're alone. Caution: Grab some tissues before reading.

The award for the best album of the year goes to this one, which is filled with more than 100 incredible old photos that will really blow your mind in the weirdest way.

We love a good rage comic, but this one brings them to a whole different level. It's not only one of the greatest rage comics ever written, it's also one of the most inspiring stories we've ever heard. It tells the life story of an 86 year old man, and will probably make you look at your life in a completely different way.

With the occupy movement starting this year, there have been more protest and controversial images than ever before. This image, taken at UC Davis in California, wins the award for most controversial of the year. Not only did it generate almost 1 million views, it also spun off into a meme of it's own called "Pepper Spray Cop" (for example). Because of the huge impact this image had on the internet, it deserves the #3 spot.

When the disaster at the Fukushima power plant in Japan happened this year, this image was created to help spread the word about all the incredible things people were doing to help out. It was viewed more than 1 million times and currently sits at the top spot in our gallery and on Reddit pics.

The #1 image of the year goes to Barack Obama. Right when Obama's birth certificate story was as big as it could get, he was getting ready to drop the headline of the decade. It turned out to be the image of the year too. At more than 3 million views (2 million more than the second highest viewed image of this top 11) and almost 7 thousand tweets, it's the most popular and viral of the year.

People in Samoa (population 193,000) want to be closer time-wise to Australia, New Zealand, China and Tonga because they do so much more day-to-day business with those relatively nearby nations than with the rest of the world. And the problem until now, for example, has been that when it's 8 a.m. Monday in Samoa it's 8 a.m. Tuesday in Tonga. Business people in Samoa have kind of been losing a working day when it comes to dealing with their nearest neighbors.

Now the time, literally, has come. When 11:59:59 p.m. strikes Thursday in Samoa, the next tick will take folks there to Saturday.

And no one will be born or die on Dec. 30, 2011, in Samoa. Weird.

Samoa has been on the eastern side of the dateline since 1892, The Australian notes, "following lobbying by merchants who did most of their business with America and Europe. ... The world has changed. Australia and New Zealand provide half the country's imports and buy 85 per cent of Samoa's exports."

Clearance stickers have a small number on the left top corner whick represents the percentage off. It starts at 10, then goes to 15, 30, 50, 75 and the lowest it gets is 90, then it goes back to the manufacturer.

Used Cars

Sometimes the price was marked on the windshields with a Dymo labelmaker on the bottom corner driver's side. The code worked like this, the first and last digits were the model year of the car, the other digits were the the price after you add the digits "95" to it. Any letters in the code were just made up.

So a code of A8239 would mean a 1989 model and the dealership wanted $2395 for it. Z9879 is a 1999 with an asking price of $8795

Used Boats

A similar code to the one above has been used in selling boats, except the number that was the price was the lowest number you could go. So if the code said 731293702, you disregarded the first and last two numbers, which meant nothing, and the lowest we could get for the boat was 12,937.

As revealed in the DVD commentary on several episodes, the Janitor character was initially to be used as a figment of J.D.'s imagination if the show had been canceled during the first season or the first half of the second. This would have been revealed to the audience in the finale.

In the first season the Janitor seems to be acknowledged by other characters; however, these could have been explained as coincidences, or the interacting as being part of J.D.'s imagination. For example, in "My Bad", Elliot seems to acknowledge him when she throws a coffee cup down next to him and sarcastically says "Sorry!" In "My Nickname" Janitor gives J.D. the nickname "Scooter", and later Dr. Cox refers to J.D. by that name. In "My Way or the Highway", Janitor gives advice to several patients (recommending surgery) and one even indicates that Janitor is in the room.

The first time that Janitor interacts with another major character besides J.D. is in the season two episode "My Karma", in which he blackmails J.D. and Turk.
